New Poll –>

Hey all you visitors (basically Zach and myself)…

Let us know what types of games you like to play in the latest ModStomp poll (upper right corner if you’re blind). We won’t really do anything with this data, it’s just interesting to see if anyone actually votes.

Thanks,
The ModStomp Team (basically Zach and myself)

Sad, But True…

I was checking out the joystiq weekly webcomic round-up for last week and couldn’t help but laugh at the contribution from Concerned (a Half-Life based comic). There was some Counter-Strike love being spread around and it unfortunately rang true of the vast majority of the time I’ve spent on the Counter-Strike servers. I’ve ranted about the lack of courtesy online before, but I thought this was a rather humorous approach. Click the pic below to view the comic in question:

All Hail King Bender!

So here’s another case of geeky cartoon nerds with too much time on their hands. Oh how I worship their creative waste of time.

You can review the full build log at Mini-ITX.com or by clicking the pic of Bender below:

We’re pinned! Send reinforcements NOW!!!

What can I say? This case just rocks! Unfortunately the site is in Italian so I didn’t really get anything out of the post other than the title: “Radiostation, mod fenomenale!”, and the machine specs. But really, the pictures are worth a thousand words. Feast your eyes on this Wolfenstein mod that would probably send most vets into a fit of post traumatic stress induced histeria. Just WOW!

Day of Defeat: Source is FREE!! (this weekend only)

For all you Half Life 2/Medal of Honor fans out there, now you can get your WWII game on in Source style. In an effort to further prove that Valve’s Source engine is one of the best, Valve is providing PC gamers with a chance to play Day of Defeat: Source for free all weekend long.

Day of Defeat: Source is set to show off all the nifty tricks Valve can do with thier infamous Source engine and this should prove to be an excellent opportunity for many HL2 fans to try out a new Source based game.

You can preload the game now via Valve’s Steam service (click the Steam logo below), but you won’t actually be able to start playing until noon PST on Friday (Feb 10th). This is just a suggestion, but the best idea would probably be to start the download now to avoid the Steam traffic jam Friday afternoon. You may also want to make sure your calendar is completely empty so as to avoid any aggrivating conflicts that may remove you from your 48 hour gaming binge. Game On!!
