More Guild Wars than you can shake a stick at…

This post should probably go in the forum, but I’m just so excited…

The ArenaNet team has recently announce that we’re getting some sweet new content for Guild Wars. GameSpot got to interview the Guild Wars Community Relations manager and you can read all the neat-o goodness she had to reveal about the upcoming expansion here:

Guild Wars Interview

I Guess I’ll have to work extra hard to complete the current content before the expansion is released. Oh well… I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

Apple attacks the software for my new Zen Vision!

Here’s hoping this is just a fluke, and not some plot by the Mother Brain at Apple to make us all wear stupid white headphones and blink in unison, but Quicktime fragged the software for my new Zen Vision. I was happily unpacking components and slipped the CD with drivers and software into my drive. To my bewilderment, it kept giving me the "This program had an error and had to close" message. Well, I followed the link to more info, and this is the page Microsoft popped up:

Apple is the great satan

After I uninstalled Quicktime, the install of the Creative software went without a hitch. I’d like to believe there’s nothing to this, but in a world of white plastic and hip twenty-somethings rocking out in public to the top 40 on their iPods, nothing is certain anymore.

Anybody else have this problem? Fire an email off to me.

Opera is FREE, baby!

Opera has long fallen into the category of software I downloaded from the web that I actually licensed. So far, it’s the only software in that category. Well, get this – they’re going free. With new version 8.5, Opera is dropping the banner ads from their free version. Give it a try – it’s the original tabbed browser with a very slick RSS viewer, built in IRC chat, and don’t forget to check out mouse gestures. It’s also very skinnable, has the single best file transfer interface, a near-perfect popup blocker . . . and I’m gushing. Seriously, though, check it out.
