Peter Venkman Is The Man…

I don’t speak Dutch so I have no idea what they’re saying in the video below, but I do know that the game footage excites me. I can honestly say that the original Ghostbusters movie was one of my favorites growing up (along with Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and the original TMNT movie). If you understand Dutch then this video will make more sense to you, but even if you don’t, it’s pretty easy to see that this game has potential. It could just as easily be total crap, but at least it looks good at this point. You can check out the details released so far HERE.

Sorry about the stupid player and the ads. The vid loads pretty slowly, but just give it a few minutes. You’ll be glad you did.

Bioshock Looks Creepy

I just ran across this fun Bioshock clip conglomeration on YouTube. I must say that I’m pretty excited for this game, but it does look rather creepy. I’m all for a bit of spooky “tension” in my games, but hopefully it’s not so creepy that I can’t finish it. (Yeah… I’m a wuss. What of it?)

Anyway… enjoy the vid.

Valve Makes Me Giddy

I’ve been pretty excited for Half-Life 2: Episode 2 for a while now, but there’s a fresh write-up over at ShackNews about their recent opportunity to preview Valves next Freeman filled installment and I must say… my anticipation level is growing exponentially.

As you can see from the picture on the left, the physics have been updated a bit as well as the fact that much of this episode apparently takes place in the forested region surrounding City 17 (click the pic to visit the Shacknews gallery page). Valve was apparently very careful not to let much slip about the plot and developing story line, but the article is definitely worth a read if you’re a Half-Life fan.

Also, if that weren’t enough, we keep getting fed these little snippets of yummy footage from both Portal and Team Fortress 2. I haven’t been excited for a PC game for a while, but I’m definitely buying this triple-pack the day it arrives on shelves. Here’s an enlightening glimpse into the life of “Heavy Weapons Guy” for your pure viewing enjoyment.

Half Life 2 Rocks! (get it?)

Well, you probably don’t get it yet, but you will once you watch the video below. This is a fun little ipod-esque garry’s mod mashup that gets the foot tappin’ and the HL2 juices flowin’. I NEED EPISODE 2 NOW! But I guess I’ll just have to go home and play through episode 1 again. -sigh-

Anyway… enjoy this fun little “stomp” through Gordons world.

The Crossing Revealed

A couple weeks ago I posted a blurb about the upcoming Source based game called The Crossing. At the time I wasn’t exactly sure what made this game so different from other fps games other than the fact that it supposedly was a blending between single player and multi-player gameplay. Well, we now have some additional information and I can say that I’m even more excited than I was before. The concept sounds pretty sweet if it works as well as they seem to think that it will. And I’m definitely stoked by the prospect of co-op play. I think that’s one area that’s severely lacking in most fps games. Luckily, it sounds like we’ll have a few co-op fps’s in the next couple years. Woot!

Anyway, watch the clip below for a more in-depth explanation of what we can expect in the upcoming game The Crossing:

What The Crap Is “Cross-player”?

Knowing Valve… it’s something that’s gonna be friggen awesome!

I just saw the vid below on Youtube and now I’m all hyped up to find out more about this new game from Valve and Arcane Studios (and I still haven’t even played Portal yet). I’m not exactly sure what cross-player might be, but I’m gonna venture a guess that it’s something along the lines of cooperative and/or multi-player within the single-player story line. Ever since the good old days of the Double Dragon arcade cabinet, cooperative play has been something of a holy grail for me. Unfortunately, very few games encorporate this cool feature and even fewer do it well. There’s just something comforting in knowing your buddy has your back when you venture into that dark sub-terranian enclave of evil baddies (think Diablo II).

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how The Crossing is going to re-define how we think of multi-player. Enjoy the short vid.

Line Rider Is Just Fun

In celebration of the fact that Line Rider is coming to the Wii and DS, I thought I’d post another great Line Rider vid from the depths of the YouTube vaults. Unlike many of the other Line Rider videos that seem to take on an alpine-esque sort of theme, this one tends to be a bit more… urban. I just love how these guys are able to wrap a whole world around their little sleigh-bound adventurers. Enjoy…

Bioshock Sure Looks Purty…

Purty intense that is. This game looks to deliver some serious creep factor along with all those nifty water effects. We’ll have to see if I can repress my inner wuss sufficiently to make it all the way through this one.

Nifty Wii Commercial!

I thought about making this a Pwned! post, but there’s been enough PS3 bashing here lately. And as much as I hate most of those new “floating PS3 in a white room” ads, this spoof ad promoting the Wii is a pretty clever rip off. I’m sorry if I come across as a bit of a Ninty fanboy, but to be honest, I kind of am. So sue me.

Wii’s Far Cry… Look At All Those Trii’s

I’ll admit that I haven’t seen the Wii or PS3 in the flesh yet. However, I have seen plenty of game footage from both and to be honest, I’m pleasantly surprised with the Wii. There’s no doubt that the Wii is in third place when it comes to graphical realism, but from what I’ve seen so far, I really don’t think that’s going to detract from the overall enjoyment of this system (hell… I still love to play Sub Hunt on my Intellevision and there aint no HDMI adapter for that system either).

Case in point… I just found the following video of Far Cry for the Wii. I played the original a bit and although it’s hard to tell from this small clip, I think Far Cry: Vengeance looks pretty friggen good:

What are your thoughts?
