Totally Pwned! Ferrari Owners Can’t Drive

I’m not sure what it is with Ferrari’s, but for some reason the camera always seems to be rolling when they bend fenders. This particular video was captured during the filming of a PGR4 commercial and apparently, they decided not to pay for professional drivers.

I believe the F430 pictured above was the only casualty during the session and the damage was luckily not life threatening to either car or driver, but in another shot (after the jump) a ’63 Vette just about get’s plowed by a Tesla roadster. You can actually watch several more clips from the same session over at AutoBlog Green. As you watch the rest of the vids it becomes immediately apparent that the dude in the Vette probably needs to take up a new hobby. Maybe something like playing video games about racing. That way a severe oversteer won’t result in the demise of a classic piece of American Auto Art like a fully restored ’63 Vette.

Totally Pwned! Another Enzo Dies

I know this is kinda old, and it technically doesn’t have any anything to do with games, gadgets or tech-geekery… but I just can’t help cringe every time I watch this video. A small part of me dies just knowing that this car is totaled. I can’t even imagine what Eddies director (the owner of this once beautiful work of auto-art) was thinking at the moment his baby smashed into that big nasty slab of concrete. Had it been my car, I would very likely be living in the nearest maximum security prison after having sent the “Undercover Brother” six feet under by tearing his still beating heart from his chest with my bare hands. Luckily, I’ll never have to worry about owning one of these so I’ll never have to worry about killing someone for wrecking it.

Hurt to watch, didn’t it?

Totally Pwned! (Even More PS3 Pwnage)

All the PS3 hating has got to taper off at some point. But until it does, I plan to keep mining sweet gems like this from the Sony hater motherload that is YouTube:

They make a valid argument.

UPDATE: I just found a, uhhh… “response” to this video on Youtube, but it really only goes to further prove that Sony fanboys are just gun totin’, lollipop stealin’ morons. You can see the video here: be warned that they felt the need to use several vulgarities in voluminous amounts to get their point across.

Totally Pwned! (Kirk Vs. Robot Chicken)

Here is yet another of my totally useless posts to add to the ever growing collection. Zarch got me in a bit of a Star Trek mood with the last post, so I figured I’d add to it by sharing my latest YouTube find. It’s pretty much impossible to deny the hilarity of Robot Chicken. Seth Green and friends are truly amazing.

Totally Pwned! (Windex Edition)

This doesn’t really have anything to do with games or computers or anything of a geeky nature. I just find it amusing. It’s pretty cruel, but funny nonetheless. Enjoy!

Totally Pwned! (Bring It! Edition)

For those of you who don’t know, Ken Kutaragi is currently the insane head of the Sony Computer Entertainment gaming division. Mr. Kutaragi is often referred to as “The Father of the PlayStation”. But lately Ken has also been referred to as “The Father of Nutty Marketing Statements and Vicious Microsoft Slander”. Some of his statements have caused some concern that he might actually be going a tad senile. For instance…

“We want for consumers to think to themselves ‘I will work more hours to buy one (PS3)’. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else…”

Does “anything else” include food, clothing and shelter? Based on some of the eBay bids over the last couple weeks that point could definitely be argued to the affirmative. But the point of my post is that even for all of Mr. Kutaragi’s insane smack talk, the PS3 just doesn’t seem to be quite what he hyped it up to be. It seems that many folks just aren’t that impressed. Take the guys over at 1Up for instance. They seem to think the PS3 really isn’t that much better than the Xbox 360, despite being more than $200 more expensive. So… what basis do they have for this rediculous claim? The videos HERE pretty much sum it up… (note the split screen comparison between consoles)

I’ve only included one of the 10 or so videos they have posted at 1Up, but personally I think the 360 actually looks a little better. If nothing else, it seems like the 360 does a better job at HDR lighting. These videos might actually be enough to sway my purchase if I happened to be in the market for a next-gen console (which I’m not, based on my utter lack of cash). If I had to make my decision based solely on these videos (and the fact that I don’t give a rats ass about Blu-Ray) I think I’d be inclined to save a couple hundred bucks and buy a 360. Ultimately this is all irrelevant though. My money (when I can finally scrape it together) is going towards a Wii.

Totally Pwned: More Hot PS3 Pwnage

You probably heard about the dude who won 3 PS1 consoles for $900 on eBay.  Well, with a little fuzzy math, here’s another awesome eBay deal posted up on engadget.

What a fun time console launch season is!  Props to all the creative folks out there, especially those unafraid to mod with duct tape.

Totally Pwned! (Playstation Edition)

How does the old addage go?

If it seems too good to be true…

Unfortunately for some folks, it takes a few classes down at the school of hard knocks before they really get a firm grasp on how things work in the “real world”. Take, for example, the poor eBayer who apparently thought he was getting a steal on a Playstation 3 (or several of them, depending on how he read, or didn’t read the description). In the defense of the moron buyer, the eBay Listing is a bit dodgy. The seller uses phrases such as “Not PRE-ORDERED” and “THERE IS NOWHERE TO FIND EVEN THE 20GB SYSTEMS THIS CHEAP”. Obviously these keywords were meant to grab the attention of buyers looking for actual PS3′s. Even so, it’s pretty clear that this listing is not for a Playstation 3.

Let’s just hope this guys gets many good years of solid Playstation ONE enjoyment out of his newly aquired consoles. After all, he just dumped $900 into hardware that’s really only worth about $200 or so. Actually… if you really think about it, he probably shouldn’t feel much worse than those that just paid $1500 for an actual PS3. From the general reaction of those who were able to get their hands on one, this guy is probably better off.

Totally Pwned! (Wii Edition)

I saw this over on joystiq the other day and thought it deserved a Totally Pwned! post. It seems that the editorial staff of 1UP.com got pwned by the director of Gamevideos.com. Using some pre-recorded footage of Metriod Prime 2, a PS1 driving game, a ‘replica’ Wiimote and a laptop battery to pose as the Wii sensor bar, Mark MacDonald was able to fool several of the 1UP crew into thinking that they were actually playing the games. Genious!!! (caution… those 1UP kids need their mouths washed out with soap)

I guess that even real gaming professionals aren’t above a little pwnage now and then.

Totally Pwned!! (Enzo edition)

Well, it’s been a wild ride (quite literally) for former Gizmondo CEO Stefan Eriksson. It was only a couple years ago that he was trying to provide the gamer community with a new handheld gaming device but little did anyone know that the Gizmondo was doomed from the beginning. The handheld was actually produced and sold in small quantities, but it was mostly just used as a front for embezzlement by Mr. Eriksson.

Mr. Eriksson eventually stepped down as CEO of Gizmondo as it became apparent that the device would never really get off the ground. He then pretty much dropped off the radar… until February of this year when he got totally PWNED!! while driving down the PCH in his million dollar Ferrari Enzo at speeds one can only assume were excessive. The picture below shows what happens when noobs are allowed to drive cars they shouldn’t be allowed within 20 feet of (he apparently didn’t play enough Gran Turismo):

After miraculously surviving the crash, rumors of ties to the Swedish Mafia, other stolen sports cars and other previous criminal activity swirled. Eriksson was up to his neck in hot water and landed himself in court facing multiple charges. But the ride is now over as he was pwned yet again on Tuesday, Nov 7 and sentanced to 3 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to embezzlement and drunken driving charges (Full Story Here). It seems that Eriksson has also had his multi-million dollar California mansion seized and has be ordered deported once finished serving his sentance. But I think the real lesson to be learned from all this is that cheaters always get pwned in the end.
