It seems that Orson Scott Card is up to his old tricks again. This time he’s reached an agreement with Marvel comics of all folks. Apparently he’ll be adding a new story to the Ender universe in comic form. This story will apparently take place right after the end of the Formic Wars and will center around Ender’s new governorship of a newly settled colony on one of the former Formic worlds.

It seems that Mr. Card is always eager to continue the story of Ender Wiggen (even after we know his ultimate fate). In response to this news Mr. Card made the following observation:

“I thought I was just writing a good adventure story with an interesting character, but it got away from me a little.”

Indeed it has… and I’m sure I speak for more than myself when I say that I’m truly grateful for that. I’ve been a big fan of the Ender series for a while now. They just seem to have a way of sucking you into the universe that Mr. Card has created. It’ll be interesting to see how this iteration differs as a result of being delivered in comic form though. As a fan of comics and animation in general, I’m actually quite excited to see how the artists interpret the universe that Ender inhabits.
