I’m under the opinion that the updates to the Counter-Strike shopping cart are a good thing. I actually haven’t noticed that it effects my weapon purchases too much, but it has kept certain types of weapons under a bit more control (for the record, I think AWP’s are for crying little girls).

It seems that Valve has noticed some buying habits that they have referred to as “somewhat out of control” though. The Desert Eagle (easily the most effective pistol in the game) has skyrocketed to prices that aren’t really aligned with the rest of the pricing in the game. Luckily the guys at Valve are on top of things though and the most recent update is an effort to correct this issue. Games Radar points out the details of how Valve plans to fix this by making the Five Seven, P228 and Dual Elites “more effective”. By adjusting the effectiveness, it should balance out the buying habits a bit (except for those die hards that just buy the Deagle for it’s bad-ass-ness). I suppose only time will tell though.
