With a little arm twisting and a lot of (empty) promises, my wife let me get a motorcycle. Probably a bad idea on her part, but I wasn’t about to let the opportunity slip away.
I’ve wanted a street bike for some time now, but have never really persued it. But with a couple investments that have paid off well in the last month, the chance came to finally get one. I looked around for a few weeks before I found the one I wanted (that was in my price range). It’s not a big bike, but it suits the type of around-town sorta biking I plan to do.
I decided to go with a Suzuki Savage 650. It’s a fairly small bike as cruisers go, but it’s got enough punch to do well for city riding. It looks a lot like a McPrize compared to my father-in-laws massive Yamaha Road Star 1600, but it’s enough for me. It’s a little small for freeway cruising, but I only plan to use it a a commuter. With gas prices at around $2.20, it should save me close to $60 a month in gas compared to my fuel-hog Jeep Cherokee.
I’ll get some pics up later (yeah, right), but for now you can see what it looks like here.
