Well, it’s been a wild ride (quite literally) for former Gizmondo CEO Stefan Eriksson. It was only a couple years ago that he was trying to provide the gamer community with a new handheld gaming device but little did anyone know that the Gizmondo was doomed from the beginning. The handheld was actually produced and sold in small quantities, but it was mostly just used as a front for embezzlement by Mr. Eriksson.
Mr. Eriksson eventually stepped down as CEO of Gizmondo as it became apparent that the device would never really get off the ground. He then pretty much dropped off the radar… until February of this year when he got totally PWNED!! while driving down the PCH in his million dollar Ferrari Enzo at speeds one can only assume were excessive. The picture below shows what happens when noobs are allowed to drive cars they shouldn’t be allowed within 20 feet of (he apparently didn’t play enough Gran Turismo):

After miraculously surviving the crash, rumors of ties to the Swedish Mafia, other stolen sports cars and other previous criminal activity swirled. Eriksson was up to his neck in hot water and landed himself in court facing multiple charges. But the ride is now over as he was pwned yet again on Tuesday, Nov 7 and sentanced to 3 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to embezzlement and drunken driving charges (Full Story Here). It seems that Eriksson has also had his multi-million dollar California mansion seized and has be ordered deported once finished serving his sentance. But I think the real lesson to be learned from all this is that cheaters always get pwned in the end.
